I am not a huge fan of social media and I have always wanted to take a shot at it in a song. A few things had to happen for this version of the song to exist. In 2001 I wrote a song called Wow. My cousins and I were in a new band and we were trying to get ourselves noticed. A popular shock radio show in NY called Opie and Anthony had a bit they did on Wednesdays called Whip'em Out Wednesday. The idea was that if you were driving on the highway, had a WOW bumper sticker on your car some girl might flash you and honk. They had a huge audience and we figured if they played our song every Wednesday, we would get some exposure to an audience exponentially larger than the one we had. One Friday, a producer for the show heard the song and said he would talk to they guys on Tuesday to see if we could get on the show on Wednesday. Sounds good right? Horrifically no. That Tuesday was September 11. And after the events of that day I felt like an idiot for even writing the song in the first place.
Even after a few years went by, the song was essentially still unusable. What radio station was going to play a promo for another radio station? It didn't help that O&A got fired in 2002 for a stunt that they pulled on WNEW. I was stuck... I always loved the music and melody and knew that I would use it again someday. So in 2026 I combined the 2 things I always wanted to do, use WOW and write about social media. I thought the phrase "Somebody Just Like Me" was the perfect title because it is an honest representation of the haves and have-nots online… the confidence of somebody "just like me," and the desperation of somebody to just "LIKE ME!" I wrote a verse about an influencer, a verse about a nobody, a bridge of the stupid things that people do to get attention and a last Chorus adresses the neediness of both.

Love who I am?
Just posted on the Tok and then again on Instagram
A gourmet lunch
Fun pictures on the beach, my friends are hot, my shirt is off
You’re making this too easy for me
Sometimes I don’t even try
I bet you’ll pay to watch me watch paint dry
I can sell you anything and I know you will buy it
I’m the douchey influencer, who's monetized
Post goes up

I don’t get noticed here it’s just like every day at school
I’m falling further into this hole
I think somehow I was cursed
And social media just makes it worse
The world is rubbing it in
And making sure that it hurts
If being last was winning
I’d be first
Post goes up
A desperate plea
Somebody please, just like me

This is one of my personal favorites. I think it nails the consumer culture that we live in, shows the absurdity of being convinced we have to buy things that we really don’t want or need... and most importantly, laments being made to feel inferior if we don’t have these things. The idea that this concept is form of torture is an amusing angle... and starting off the song with "I hate myself just like everyone else" pretty much sets the tone.
Lyrics
I hate myself just like everyone else
They squash me
They just keep thinking up ways
To make me feel small
They crush me
With everything I see
And all the things I can’t afford
Put me down
Try and make me believe that I don’t measure up
What I am
Will never be quite right or ever good enough
So who is this sadist that keeps
Peddling me
Everything I don’t need
Or knew existed at all
Still I’ll go to the store cause
I want more yeah I want more
I’m a whore
And it’s torture
I hate myself just like everyone else
The world found
Yet another way, to punish me
I’m first out
I’m wasting my time, she’s outta my league
But I want her
Just add it to my growing list of things I’ll never have
So close but yet, so very far away
I’d follow her home but I’d just get arrested again
I know Victoria’s Secret
You put a real hot girl
On the cover of your magazine
Hotter than you’ve ever seen
And mostly naked
And we’ll want more
Yeah we’ll buy more
Cause we’re all whores
And it’s torture
We hate ourselves just like everyone else
You hate yourself just like everyone else
I hate myself just like everyone else
You hate yourself just like everyone
Why don’t you take me
Why don’t you give me
Why don’t you let me out
Why do I do this to me
Every time I stop, stop and think
This blanket of self loathing
Covers me like clothing
But I wear it well
I wear it well
And all the rich and beautiful people
Bring the world to it’s knees without saying please
Or trying that hard
They just show up but it’s not their fault
It’s ours cause we want more
We’re all whores
and we like torture
torturing ourselves just like everyone else

I had a friend in the early 2000s who suffered from swings of depression that seemingly came out of nowhere. She would be happy and laughing one minute and then in an instant be really depressed. It was hard to watch. She would be shaking and crying saying, "Please help me I don’t know what is happening to me." It was almost like her body was doing something she couldn’t control and she was just trapped inside watching it all go on around her. It was very strange because when I looked into her eyes I could still see her in there despite all that was going on. We stopped seeing each other after about 2 years and about a year after that I wrote the song. At times it can seem a bit trite considering what was going, but for many people, this is their favorite song of mine. I guess in some ways maybe it’s reassuring. I do like the male vocal version, but I also did a version with a female vocal which I like as well. It gives the song a completely different energy and slant.
Lyrics
It’s all right, then it’s all wrong
That’s the usual for you
And you are, you coming apart
You’re somewhere freaking out alone
But it’s not that bad
I hate to see you sad
But still you think you
Need to hold the world up on your back
So you’re confused and down again
Truth be told we’re all insane
Let it go, there is no way
To get around it it’s OK
You want to cry you want to scream
Don’t apologize to me
I see you’re having a bad day
Trust me there’s no need to explain
Nothing, is working out
Just like you thought it would today
You give up, and you sit down
Right in the same spot where you stood
Get back up
I know that you feel stuck
Take a breath
And keep your head and it will all work out
So you’re confused and down again
Truth be told we’re all insane
Let it go, there is no way
To get around it it’s OK
You want to cry you want to scream
Don’t apologize to me
I see you’re having a bad day
Trust me there’s no need to explain
You walk around
Hands up in the air
Shake your head you’re frustrated and just fed up and then
You fall down
Without making a sound
And suddenly it’s so funny you crack a smile and laugh
Til it hurts
You say “It can’t get worse”
And life’s too short to let it eat you up and break your nerves
So you’re confused and down again
Truth be told we’re all insane
Let it go, there is no way
To get around it it’s OK
You want to cry you want to scream
Don’t apologize to me
I see you’re having a bad day
Trust me there's no need to explain
Trust me there is no need to explain
Trust me there is no need to explain
Trust me there is no need to explain
Save your breath there's nothing to explain

When you are in a band playing out at bars and Frat houses, you have to have a fun party drinking anthem, so I wrote this song to be ours. Using the AA step program as a check box list format for getting wasted and partying is probably a bit distasteful, but at that point we just trying to do anything to get noticed. This song never pretended to be anything more than it was intended to be... a stupid, fun party song that you can drink and yell "hey" along with while we were playing. So there you have it.
Lyrics
Nothing ever seems to go my way
But I'd rather laugh about it than get sucked down the drain
I only want to have a good time
Forget the wasted day and turn it all around
Maybe life's unfair
And all messed up, but I don't care
Because I'm ready
To get lit up and just go crazy
One, the alcohol goes in (give me one, give me one now)
Two, we'll party like the world has never seen (give me two, give me two now)
Three, the clothes fall to the floor
Yeah, then it's love, love, love
Till morning comes for everyone
I think I need another beer
I want to celebrate the fact that I'm still here
Get set 'cause we're about to fly high
Today's the first day of the rest of your whole life
Yeah, it's so unfair
And all messed up, but I don't care
Because I'm ready
To get lit up and just go crazy
One, the alcohol goes in (give me one, give me one now)
Two, we'll party like the world has never seen (give me two, give me two now)
Three, the clothes fall to the floor
Yeah, then it's love, love, love
Till morning comes for everyone
Don't hassle me 'cause I don't even want to think about it now
Here's some money, get me a drink, I'm gonna go until I'm gone
And on the way we'll all hooray and we'll be drunk and stupid
We'll toast the sun when it comes up, who gives a f#@! let's do it
Hey!
Hey!
And maybe life's unfair
And all messed up, but I don't care
Because I'm ready
To get lit up and just go crazy
One, the alcohol goes in [(give me one, give me one now)
Two, we'll party like the world has never seen (give me two, give me two now)
Three, the clothes fall to the floor
Yeah, then it's love, love, love
Till morning comes for every
One the alcohol goes in (give me one, give me one now)
Two, we'll party like the world has never seen (ahh, give me two, give me two now)
Three, the clothes fall to the floor
Yeah, then it's love, love, love

I had been working in NY City for about 8 years and finally had just about had enough of the extreme cold and hot, the smell, the stress and burnout. I had always wanted to live in California and I finally got to the point where I just needed to leave, I was done. The song Bust or California a twist on the gold rush motto, because for me the Bust part had already happened. California was the only way forward. I made the move over 20 years ago.
Lyrics
It gets too cold here in winter
And I think I've had it living in the snow
I want to lay on the sand
I want to play in the sun
I want to get too high
I want to get me some
I want to ride on the waves
I want to say hello to everyone
I quit my job in the city
Lord knows there's got to be a better way
I want to sleep all day
I want to get too drunk
I want to stay out late
I want to have some fun
I want to walk around naked
And do just what I feel like doing
(And You) Say you're fed up too
Let's just sell everything and go to California
(Yeah, you) You and me got nothing to lose
We'll keep on driving till we
Hit the shoreline
(Who cares) Let's get out of here
If I wait one more minute I will certainly explode
Bust or California
I want to drive with the top down
I want the warm wind on my fingertips
I want to hang with my friends
I want the radio loud
I want my sunglasses on
I want my t-shirt off
I want to ride like I got no place to go
I want to really start living
(And You) Say you're fed up too
Let's just sell everything and go to California
(Yeah, you) You and me got nothing to lose
We'll keep on driving till we
Hit the shoreline
(Who cares) Let's get out of here
If I wait one more minute I will certainly explode
Bust or California
I want to see the girls in string bikinis
(And You) Say you're fed up too
Let's just sell everything and go to California
(Yeah, you) You and me got nothing to lose
We'll keep on driving till we
Hit the shoreline
(Who cares) Let's get out of here
If I wait one more minute I will certainly explode
So let's get out on the road

This song happened completely by accident. I was writing the song What Mary's Got (See the album Flavor Shake'r) and I got stuck on the last line of the second verse. I tried for 3 weeks to think of something, but just couldn't find the right line. So I thought, "Hey, I know where I can find some insightful and meaningful stuff, in my yearbooks." I started reading the yearbooks and in no time, ROTFL. Bingo, next song, and it wrote itself. The verses are just a summary of my middle school and high school yearbooks.
Lyrics
Glad I got to know you this year
I hope you have a great summer
Maybe we'll go steal some beer
See who can get drunker
I can't believe we survived
Thought it would never be over
Yeah we just barely got by
You were always in trouble
Can't think of anything more
Don't really know who you are
But I will be your friend if you will be my friend today
So please don't think too hard
(Wouldn't want to see your head explode)
If you find yourself (at a sudden loss for words)
Say to me just what I said to you
Will you sign my yearbook
Maybe one day we'll look back and we'll see how dumb we were
Hope you're in my classes again
Couldn't have done it without you
And how about that loser in gym
Do you know if the story is true
Has anyone ever told you before
You look just like your brother
Good luck with everything
Take it easy generically yours
So if you hand me the pen
I'll fill those blank spaces in
I'll write big and I'll be very, very, very, very wordy
(If you do the same for me)
Please don't think too hard (Wouldn't want to see your head explode)
If you find yourself (at a sudden loss for words)
Say to me just what I said to you
Will you sign my yearbook
Maybe one day we'll look back and we'll see how dumb we were
Please don't think too hard (Wouldn't want to see your head explode)
If you find yourself (at a sudden loss for words)
Say to me just what I said to you
Will you sign my yearbook
Maybe one day we'll look back and we'll see how dumb we were
[Solo]
I see that look on your face
You don't remember my name
That's okay just give me something it's better than nothing
Write whatever you want
It doesn't have to be clever
You can tell me I'm wonderful
Say we'll be friends forever
See I really don't care
It's just these pages are empty
I'm not all that popular
And I don't ever believe what I read
(But you can write it anyway)
So please don't think too hard (Wouldn't want to see your head explode)
If you find yourself (at a sudden loss for words)
Say to me just what I said to you
Will you sign my yearbook
Maybe one day we'll look back and
we'll see how dumb we were
See how dumb we were
See how dumb we were

I wanted to do song about that moment when you realize something really bad is happening... your body goes numb, the blood rushes to your head and you get sweaty and tingly. In some ways this isn’t a punk song, because a true punk wouldn’t care (or would at least pretend not to care) about any of this stuff. But I thought the idea was funny enough for a song, so I did it anyway. The elevator music section always gets people's attention.
Lyrics
I wondered if my car would go a hundred
Screaming down the interstate I,
Didn't see him till the cop was
Pulling out his lights were on
I heard the siren blare
Now I feel a little ill
Ex-girlfriend called to say how are you
We'd just broken up and
Hadn't talked for days, she said
She thought that I should know
She was late and now
I think I feel a little ill
And I can hear my own heart beating
I am sweating through my shirt
I'm having trouble breathing
And starting to get stomach sick
Tried to use my credit card on Tuesday
Surprised I was declined, I hadn't paid the bill, so I
Called up to ask them just exactly what I owed
Now I feel a little ill
Now I feel a little ill
My mouth is drying out
Got a lump caught in my throat
Brain is doing somersaults my
Eyes are crossed and I can't focus
And I've got elevator music... in my head
Bumped some psycho huge guy at a party
He turned around like he was looking for someone to kill, he said
That he would hit me so hard I'd go back in time
Suddenly I feel a little ill
My skin is burning up
The blood is rushing to my face
My back is tingling
The stun is weakening my legs
I miss, I lose, I break, I screw up everything
I am
Feeling a little
I just
Think I'm gonna
I am feeling a little ill

I wrote a bunch of pop punk songs and decided to put together a band to play them out. So, me and my cousins Al and Ralph started a band called the Strawdaddies and played together for a few years. The concept was high energy fun with some silliness mixed in. "All about you" is simply a song about being with someone who makes everything, no matter what, all about them and just how annoying it can be.
Lyrics
It's never about me
It's never about me
I'm a wreck
Are you messing with my head?
I can't tell I've stopped thinking
You believe
I should give you everything that you need
And then I should thank you
But I'm through
It's never about me
It's never about me, yeah
It's always all about you
You, drag me down and wear me out (you)
You want too much you never stop (you)
I'm fed up, I've had enough (you)
You just go on and on about anything you ever want to do
It's always all about you
It's never about me (all about you)
It's never about me
It's my fault
I let you get away with everything
By now I should know better
You're so smart
You're so sure that you have got the world wrapped round your little finger
And I lose
It's never about me
It's never about me yeah
It's always all about you
You drag me down and wear me out (you)
You want too much you never stop (you)
I'm fed up, I've had enough (you)
You just go on and on about anything you ever want to do
It's always all about you
It's never about me (all about you)
It's never about me
It's always something, (but it's never enough)
You're getting your way, (but it's never enough)
You are relentless, (but it's never enough)
Oh yeah, it's endless
Forget you
You drag me down and wear me out (you)
You want too much you never stop (you)
I'm fed up, I've had enough (you)
You just go on and on about (you)
You drag me down and wear me out (you)
You want too much you never stop (you)
I'm fed up, I've had enough (you)

I am one of those people who is always trying to make a joke out of something because there is nothing that I love more than a good laugh. However, most of the time, the ladies we are with don’t think any of it is very funny, and find themselves constantly annoyed. I once had a girl in college say to me,”you are not a very serious person are you?” and I was like what "no kidding what gave it away?" Anyway, as you can imagine, I found my self in trouble most of the time.
Lyrics
Oh dear, was it something I said?
You sneer while kicking me in the leg
It's clear I'm sorely lacking in charm
Ouch honey let go, I think you're breaking my arm
Oh no, was that subject taboo?
Keep low this thing is top secret too
There's no undue cause for alarm
Ouch honey let go, I think you're breaking my arm
Don't scream or make a scene
Please don't make a scene
We'll do this at home, a wink would do the trick
Come on, it's just a joke but no one's laughing
Something tells me that I shouldn't have said that
Can I take it back? I wasn't serious
Come on, are you not talking to me now?
Are you not talking to me now?
Are you not talking to me now?
Open up and insert foot into mouth
I'm stuck I wish I were somewhere else
My luck I've caused irreparable harm
Ouch honey let go, I think you're breaking my arm
This time, you say that I've gone too far
But I don't even know what is wrong
You go calm, so I'm expecting a storm
Ouch honey let go, I think you're breaking my arm
Don't scream or make a scene
Please don't make a scene
We'll do this at home, a wink would do the trick
Come on, it's just a joke but no one's laughing
Something tells me that I shouldn't have said that
Can I take it back? I wasn't serious
Come on, are you not talking to me now?
Are you not talking to me now?
Are you not talking to me now?
I tried, too late the damage is done
I crossed the line, feels like I'm stuck here in hell
I've got the sign, I've been officially warned
Ouch honey let go, I think you're breaking my arm
I think you're breaking my arm
I think you're breaking my arm
Ouch honey let go, I think you're breaking my arm

Not too much to say here. Many people spend most of their lives wondering why they aren't getting the respect that "they deserve." This is their anthem.
Lyrics
No one gives me cool tickets to shows or their box seats
No one tells me how good I look in my new jeans
No one laughs at my jokes or buys me stuff on trips
No one serves me free food in fancy restaurants
'Cause I don't have anything that anybody needs
Still I wish that the world would suck up to me
Suck up to me, suck up to me, suck up to me (yeah)
Suck up to me, suck up to me, suck up to me (yeah)
No one asks me how I am or calls to see if I'm okay
No one helps me get out of the car or carries in my bags
No one hands me cigars or fine wine to butter me up
No one pretends to be interested in hanging on my every word
'Cause I don't know anything that anybody needs
Still I wish that the world would suck up to me
Suck up to me, suck up to me, suck up to me (yeah)
Suck up to me, suck up to me, suck up to me
Suck up, suck up to me (yeah), suck up, suck up to me (yeah)
I’m no, rock star, super model, actor, athlete
I’m no, Einstein, millionaire, president or prince
I’m just, a guy, working hard like everybody else
Lord of, nothing, would you even care if I dropped dead
(Cause) I don’t do anything that anybody needs
Still I think that the world should do some puckering up and
Suck up to me, suck up to me, suck up to me (yeah)
Suck up to me, suck up to me, suck up to me (yeah)

This is probably sonically the least punk song of the album, but theme-wise it’s pretty right on. I just always found it weird that many people think there is a "right" path that everyone must follow, and if you don’t follow it then there must be something wrong with you. My feeling is that everyone is on their own journey so who are you to say what I should or shouldn’t be doing. The ironic part is that it is usually the people who are judging you and telling you what you should be doing, and insisting you be more like them, that are the most miserable of all.
Lyrics
I never said that one day I would be the president
You don't believe that I'll amount to much of anything
But I've had enough, your perfect world is so completely f@#!
And who has the time to worry doesn't matter anyway
I'm gone, my head's in the clouds and I'm always on the run
You say, don't waste your life, you're throwing it all away
You say that I'm confused and the problem is my lousy attitude
You don't understand, cause you're no fun and a drag to be around
So I'll just ride the wave and I really don't care what the neighbors say
I may be going nowhere, but the road trip is the best part in the end
I'm gone, my head's in the clouds and I'm always on the run
You say, don't waste your life, you're throwing it all away
Don't preach to me
Guitar Solo
Look at yourself, maybe you're the one that needs the help
You did what you were told, you traded in your brain and sold your soul
You got what you wished for, now you're not sure you want it anymore
So if you're really winning, why am I much happier than you?
You're gone, your tie's too tight and your world is not your own
I say, don't waste your life, you're throwing it all away
I'm gone, I'm all wound out and I'm always on the run
You say, don't waste your life, you're throwing it all away
You're throwing it all away
You're throwing it all away
You're throwing it all away
You're throwing it all away

Origin
I always thought it was crazy how a few drinks and some hormones could so drastically change someone’s personality. It’s a real Jekyll and Hyde situation that I felt needed a song. I was going for an idea similar to the hormone monster in the Netflix show Big Mouth. I wanted to do a song that was a dialogue between a calm, rational voice in the verses and the hormone monster in the Chorus. Through the song, the rational voice is trying to put a leash on the beast that keeps trying to break free. I’m not sure if the song has aged well because I don’t know if people will see this as the satire it was meant to be, or just mindlessly pigeonhole it as toxic masculinity.
Lyrics
I know, but tell me what can I say
It's not right, but he'll just go do it anyway
I guess the goggles are on, he wants it now
That thing he's got a mind of his own
He does exactly what he wants to do
You're looking at me, I'm looking at you
Okay, she's pretty hot
But how the hell can you think we even have a shot?
Oh well, I've got nothing to lose
I'll keep drinking and I'll leave all the driving to you
He's in the flow, he's running the show again
That little Napoleon
I'm gonna get you home, I yi, yi, yi
Am so in the zone, I'm gonna get you out of your clothes
Do you want to see what I've got?
I gotta tell you it's hard to stand here making all this small talk
I've got one thing on the brain, can I tell you girl? I can't
Go home, the night is still young, it's only two
And he's just getting started up
Any luck, I'll win in the end
You can do it alone, but it's more fun with a friend
I'm all wound up, I'll just say anything
Don't blame it on me, blame it on him
I'm gonna get you home, I yi, yi, yi
Am so in the zone, I'm gonna get you out of those clothes
Do you want to see what I've got?
I gotta tell you it's hard to stand here making all this small talk
I've got one thing on the brain, can I tell you girl
You blow me away
Oh no, not the boss’s wife
Oh no, not the girlfriend’s sister
Her boyfriend could kick my head in
Are you, trying to get me in trouble
Oh no, No, I think we’re related
Oh no, Please are you kidding me - not that
You’ve got no soul, You’re out of control
Looks like you’ve taken over
Come on and put your hat on
Come on and put your, favorite hat on
Come on and put your hat on
Come on and put your, favorite hat on
Cause, I'm gonna get you home, I yi, yi, yi
Am so in the zone, I'm gonna get you out of those clothes
Do you want to see what I've got?
I gotta tell you it's hard to stand here making all this small talk
I've got one thing on the brain, can I tell you girl
You blow me away
Can I tell you girl? You blow me away
Can I tell you girl? You blow me away
Can I tell you girl? You blow me away
Can I tell you girl? You blow me away
