I uploaded my demos to Suno and had the AI render out about 50-100 cover versions of each song (some more and some less). Then, I took the stems of about 1-10 of those renders and imported them into Pro Tools. I frankenstein-ed the best parts of each of the renders together into one song. Then, I added some of my original tracks back into the song and/or layered some tracks from other renders back in.
I divided the songs into 5 Albums by style:
Coming In Hot – Pop-Punk, high energy fun
Flavor Shaker – 90s rock from alt to grunge to synth pop
Harsh White Light – A theme album about the unavoidable pitfalls of being human
Country Folk – A mix of Country and Folk songs
What Are You Waiting For? – A mix of everything from Gospel to Emo to Dance to New Wave to Industrial
I compiled some relevant information that I thought would be interesting:
A genre description
A band similar in sound
Copyright year
Total number of AI Renders / Number of renders used in song / Number of original tracks used in song / Which original tracks used
Style prompt to create the cover song from the original demo (remember, this is the prompt that got me the result I wanted, in many cases, other prompts were used and refined down to what I eventually used.) (Also note that Suno creates a very long description of your song during import and uses it as the initial style prompt when covering a song. The longer prompts are the ones I didn't change.)
